Andrew Boseley – AMPS Governing Board and Director MPBL.
Andy was a huge part of AMPS - he involved himself in every aspect of running the union; reading all the arcane texts to ensure we followed our own rules; digging deep into Unite policies to ensure we followed theirs - and avoided any pitfalls they might lead us into. He had a forensic eye for detail that we treasured and relied on. He thought carefully about his union duties and always gave his very best advice; and it always was exactly that. He was very involved with the winding up of the Benefit Scheme and always read the dry legal jargon, understood its implications and gave his best opinion on where they should go next.
He had a lovely dry and witty sense of humour - he could always be relied upon to have an accurate one liner to sum up meeting contributors that tickled us all.
If it wasn't for Andy and his daughter Emily our centenary booklet would never have got off the ground. Emily was volunteered into helping by her Dad and between them they did a simply magnificent job of researching and writing up AMPS history.
We will miss him at AMPS enormously, he was the very life and soul of our union - he gave us and the members the very best of himself. A clever, intelligent, wise and gentleman and who will be very sorely missed.
Our hearts go out to his family.
Marijke and all of us at AMPS/MPBL
