In accordance with the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992a ballot is required to maintain Unite’s political fund. A full postal ballot will take place on the question of whether the furtherance of political objects within the meaning of section 72 of the above Act shall be an object of the union. The ballot will be conducted in accordance with Rules approved by the Certification Officer a copy of which will be supplied to any member free of charge upon request.
