Ballot Papers will be issued to all members who joined prior to 31 January 2023 asking for you to vote on the continuation of the political fund.

In accordance with the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992a ballot is required to maintain Unite’s political fund. A full postal ballot will take place on the question of whether the furtherance of political objects within the meaning of section 72 of the above Act shall be an object of the union. The ballot will be conducted in accordance with Rules approved by the Certification Officer a copy of which will be supplied to any member free of charge upon request. An Independent Scrutineer has been appointed to supervise this ballot, they are Civica Election Services (CES) and they can be contacted at the following address: The Independent Scrutineer Civica Election Services The Election Centre33 Clarendon Road, London N8 0NWCompleted voting papers must reach the scrutineer on or before 22 May 2023.Ballot papers will be sent to all members to reach them by 1 May 2023.Anyone who is a member on 31 January 2023 will be entitled to vote including retired, community and other members covered by Rule 3.Members including those who reside in Northern Ireland, the Irish Republic, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Gibraltar and other countries are not eligible to vote in this ballot.
